Summer Refresher – Rosemary Sparkling Lemonade

Summer is around the corner and I am testing my mixology abilities.  Try this sophisticated lemonade at your next barbecue.  I promise you will not regret it.

Rosemary Sparkling Lemonade

This recipe is in "parts" so that you can adjust the quantity as required.

Ingredients
  • *** For the Rosemary Infused Syrup
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 3 or 4 sprigs of fresh rosemary
  • *** For the Drink
  • 1 part rosemary infused syrup
  • 1 part freshly squeeze lemon juice
  • 4 parts carbonated water (Perrier, San Pelegrino,...)
  • Small sprig of fresh rosemary and slice of lemon
Instructions
  1. For the rosemary infused syrup - Put the water and sugar in a saucepan over medium heat and stir till the sugar is dissolved and mixture is clear. Put the rosemary in a Mason jar and top with the syrup. Let it cool and then cover and put in the refrigerator for at least 24 hours.
  2. For the drink - In a tall glass, add a small sprig of rosemary and a slice of lemon. Add syrup, lemon juice and carbonated water. Stir gently and top with ice. Enjoy!
